The Reach Out 2 Kids team is today celebrating being named as one of 50 ‘Trailblazers of the Future’ at an awards ceremony hosted by leading advertising, marketing and media magazine Campaign.
ROK was nominated by BAME2020, an initiative that aims to ensure that 20% of senior marketing talent is from a BAME background by 2020 and was itself one of 10 organisations named by Campaign as a ‘Trailblazer for Change‘ for their work championing diversity and inclusion. Each of those 10 organisations were then asked to nominate five future trailblazers who they felt were leading on diversity and going above and beyond to initiate meaningful and impactful initiatives, drive change and new ways of working.
The achievements of ROK and the other ‘Trailblazers of the Future’ were celebrated in a prestigious event held at Google on Monday 8 October, attended by ROK founder and CEO Denise Stephenson.
Commenting, Denise said: “It’s a real honour to be nominated as one of five top Trailblazers for the Future by the amazing team at BAME2020. The ceremony at Google hosted by Campaign Magazine was amazing, and it was extremely humbling to be in and amongst some incredible people doing incredible things.”
On the work of ROK, she added: “I’m a believer in people making the change they want to see. At ROK we want to see more opportunities created for those who often feel they are unable to or prevented from applying to higher education or a particular job or pursuing a career, just because they don’t quite fit in terms of their race, background, religion or gender. We strive to create opportunities for those people and to provide them with the tools to believe, achieve and succeed in their career aspirations.”
